The Southern Museum's Mother & Daughter Tea
Saturday, May 8 • 1 PM - 4 PM
Don your prettiest dresses for this special tea just in time for Mother's Day!
Mothers and daughters will enjoy a traditional Victorian teatime complete with sandwiches, scones, fruit, sweets and a delicious dessert finale. But that's not all - you'll also be charmed by a fashion show, music, games, and make-and-take crafts including decoupaging your own keepsake box, decorating spring bonnets and making a "tussie mussie!"
So bring your favorite doll or stuffed animal for teatime with mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, nieces and friends - the memories made here will last a lifetime!

My favorite mother/daughter time was a long time ago when we only had one car and my oldest daughter was just two years old. We would drive Daddy to work, and then stop by the local coffee cart at the county municipal airport. I would get my tea latte and she would get a "mooka" and we would watch the planes take off and land. Some of the sweetest and wonder filled time we had back then. There was no hectic schedules with just one 2 year old, and the delight in her eyes when a plane took off right over us or a helicopter nearby would float above our heads was priceless. Even she still remembers is it almost 10 years later!
A favorite? I can't pick! With Lindsey, I guess I'd say the day she started calling me "Mama" after her adoption. With Kathryn, there are a lot, but one I'd pick was the 1st time we went to tea & celebrated my birthday. She was so delighted by the whole thing, and that teacup was nearly as big as her face!
